Dony Valentino
Unsaid

Unsaid, released digitally by A.MA Records, is the new single by italian composer and multi-instrumentalist Dony Valentino. It is an intimately narrative work that lies between new classical music and the more cinematic and introspective side of contemporary jazz, where a minimalistic and meditative style of writing— a distinctive hallmark of all his works — finds its fullest expression.

The leitmotif of Unsaid, entrusted to the piano, culminates in a climax that gradually expands with the entrance of the synth and, subsequently, the violin, which serves as the true chorus of the piece.

Joining Dony Valentino is an outstanding trio: guitarist Fabrizio Savino, whose career includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Jeff Ballard, Flavio Boltro, and Chiara Civello. He has also performed at major international events and festivals, including the Unisa Jazz Festival, Thailand Jazz Conference, and Locus Festival; double bassist Giuseppe D’Abramo, an active figure in the mainstream jazz scene, whose collaborations range from Stefano Bedetti and Joe Johnson to Felice Mezzina, Daniele Scannapieco and Giuseppe Cederna; and drummer Antonio Di Lorenzo, who has performed on the stages of internationally renowned festivals such as Umbria Jazz and collaborated with historic figures of the global jazz scene, including Steve Lacy, Lee Konitz and Enrico Rava.

Unsaid is not simply a contemporary jazz composition, but the expression of an emotional crescendo that draws its strength precisely from what remains unexplored. The title itself evokes the idea of an incomplete, suspended narrative, where meaning is shaped through listening rather than through explicit declaration.
