DIL Trio
Hammondday

The 1960s are calling with Hammonday, the latest release from A.MA Records. Recorded in Belgrade as part of the Serbian Wave, The DIL Organ Trio pays homage to the Hammond organ sound that punctuated the Mod-Jazz and Hard-Bop sounds of the swinging decade.
The trio consists of long time friends and artistic collaborators Dusan Petrovic, Irina Pavlovic and Luka Jovicic, their first initials taken to create the trio's name DIL, who wanted to pay tribute to the Hammond Organ Trios from the USA and add their own flavours of Balkan spice. Think Jimmy Smith meets Jimmy McGriff to share a bottle of rakija and a plate of ajvar and tursija and are joined by Brian Augur, Wes Montgomery and Idris Muhammed and you'll get the blend of Hammonday.
Dusan's guitar virtuosity and Irina's Hammond C3 dexterity combine together to create the perfect blend with Luka's rhythmically intricate drums on an album that exudes the joy of musicians coming together to play what they love.Irina moves from the piano from which she made her A.MA Records debut album, The Soulful Heritage, to the Hammond C3 to write and arrange six of the tracks on Hammonday to be joined by three tracks from Dusan in this nine track album of loungey and head nodding, feet moving Jazz.
This is illustrated by the deep and sultry “Lights Off (Alt. Take)”, where the Trio is joined on Trombone by Corey Wilcox and “Balkan”, which also features a hauntingly beautiful vocal from Irina.
Hammonday from DIL Organ Trio is released on CD and digital on the 2nd of May 2025 and is a must have album of 1960s Hammond trio Jazz created with a contemporary edge.
