Antonio Trinchera
Bug Night - Elbert Phillips "Trippy Tribute Remix

For the third track in the series of the A.MA Reforged remix project Elbert Phillips has taken a second track from Antonio Trinchera's acclaimed album Fauves and re-interpreted Bug Night for a Trippy Tribute Mix. As Elbert say, he has paid homage to the original composition as well as to the UK Jazz-Funk sound of the early 1980s. Featuring additionally recorded contributions from Tom Laroye on percussion and synth and bass guitarist Terrence 'Slim' Holmes, the Trippy Tribute Mix of Bug Night is just over 7 minutes of sublime Jazz fuelled musical freedom that combines the creative bests of both the Puglia based jazz musician and the native Chicagoan producer. Personally selected by Frankie Knuckles to be the House Godfather's warm-up DJ, Elbert Phillips is mined from the seam of the Chicago House music scene. Elbert is a producer and remixer who has worked with Josh Milan, Ursula Rucker, Andre Espeut, Shamrock Guitor, Carla Prather, Terrene and Nimbus Sextet for Acid Jazz Records in London.Guitarist Antonio Trinchera's Fauves album fuses his twin musical passions of Jazz and Electronica in an album which takes as its theme the manifesto of the French 19th Century Fauvism art movement. Antonio layers meaning into his tracks by combining electronica with Jazz, pop and poly-rhythms; combining complexity with simplicity to create an emotional and musical fusion. This can be experienced in the original album version of Bug Night and is the key element in why Elbert chose to remix this track when commissioned to undertake A.MA Reforged 003.With the original groove gaining much airplay across Europe's specialist Black music stations and the Fauves album receiving rave reviews, this remix is sure to be the track to banish any Winter blues
