Talented Serbian musician, Milos Colovic (double bass) is inspired by the music of Arild Andersen (Affirmation, 2022) and Delfeayo Marsalis (Pontius Pilate's Decision, 1992), while the melodies of To The Beat Of My Footsteps firmly range over highly sophisticated neo jazz textures. Blue notes on Cimmeria and Shapeshifter, rebellious sounds in Monsieur De Bordeaux and The Dreadful Moths. The Riverside vein peeks out in the 'vaporous' Solitude with two fingers of rum in a frozen glass. Milos Colovic 's long-delayed recording debut as a leader finds the young double bass player starring in seven of his originals and enjoying the music for what it is: advanced hard bop. Among the many artists appearing on this set are Andreja Hristic (piano), Milos Grbatinic drums), Ivan Radivojevic (trumpet), Luka Ignjatovic (alto saxophone) and Rastko Obradovic (tenor saxophon). Players take the leap of faith together and find and develop the shapes of the moment, an object lesson in spontaneous group creativity. Throughout the CD Milos Colovic shows a willingness to take risks and push himself, and the result is consistently emotional post-bop music.
